Doing what we can.
Most of us have never experienced something like this. We feel unsettled, powerless, sitting in our homes to wait and see. At moments we feel like we’re overreacting, and at others underreacting. For those of us in the food and beverage industry, this feeling of uncertainty is magnified. We’re left with unanswerable questions and an unknown timeline when ‘business as usual’ will resume.
As we’ve built our business over the past 12 years, we’ve faced challenges that felt unsurmountable. We’ve had to pivot, to lean on each other and to be resourceful. We’ve always taken great pride in being a part of the Truckee community.
So right now we’re focused on doing what we can.
While our restaurant in-house dining is closed, for the time being, we’re making contact-less delivery and pick-up of meals, beer, and cocktails available to our community. 100% of tips from these deliveries go directly to hourly employees who were unable to maintain and we’ll match those contributions.
We’re taking great precautions to sanitize our kitchens thoroughly throughout the day. Our entire staff uses gloves and we sanitize all touchpoints (doors, anything touched by a customer) after every pickup. Our waiting area for pickup is outside where we have space for social distancing and gloves available for our customers. During the packaging of each meal, isolated staff members practice the highest levels of sanitization and hygiene. Those staff members are completely separate from customer-facing staff and all of our pickup and delivery orders are now contact-less.
We have retooled Old Trestle Distillery to produce thousands of bottles of hand sanitizer gel in accordance with WHO guidelines, and are partnering with the Town of Truckee police force and Tahoe Forest Hospital to provide sanitizer to first responders, hospital workers and the wider community. We are working closely with town agencies and local organizations to ensure efficient distribution to the people on the front lines and those in greatest need. Should you, your family members or co-workers be in need, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly at andy@truckeecraftventures or alicia@truckeecraftventures.
We want to hear from you if there’s more we can be doing and we’re thankful to this community for supporting local businesses and know that we’ll emerge from this stronger together.
